Critical Acclaim

~ Winner of the LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play
~ Outstanding Achievement by a Lead Actor (Drama) from Stage Scene LA
~ Outstanding Acting in an Ensemble Cast/ Drama from Stage Scene LA for Amadeus

Some Reviews:

Amadeus

“THIS AMADEUS HAS NERVE”:

…by staging Amadeus in modern dress (wittily realized by costumer Shon LeBlanc), Viverito gleans unexpected relevance to these American Idol-ridden times…Dan Alemshah, Barry Saltzman and David Stifel make brashly seriocomic court officials…That sums up this audaciously bracing interpretation.

~ David C. Nichols, LA Times

Critic’s Pick!

“Dan Alemshah…add[s] elegance to the supporting roles.  At the play’s end, Salieri laments that mediocrity is everywhere. Well, at least it cannot be found on this stage.”

~ Dany Margolies

Critic’s Pick!

“….The wonderful Dan Alemshah and David Stifel are subtle scene stealers as Count Orsini-Rosenberg and Chancellor Von Strack.”

–StageSceneLA

“David Stifel, Dan Alemshah, Barry Saltzman, and David Robert May…make for an excellent ensemble. They are much more than a Greek chorus, filling out the action and emotion of the play as it flashes back, then linearly moves forward to Salieri’s end. The Chandler Studio Theatre’s stage is neither big nor lavishly set, so it’s up to the actors to create the scene visually. These four do that well. When May steps out as the Emperor followed by his three advisors, you know you are in the palace and can feel the lavishness through the actors.”

–ReviewPlays.com

Tennessee in the Summer

“…brought to vivid and complex life by Dan Alemshah…The scenes between Alemshah (an Ovation Award winner for his unforgettable work in The Fat Of The Land) and WCE newcomer Araujo gripped and moved me as I don’t often find myself gripped and moved. Both give award-caliber performances.”

–StageSceneLA

The Fat of the Land

“…the multi-ethnic transsexual-to-be Claudia (Dan Alemshah), a combination of Auntie Mame and Dear Abby, offering erudite advice for the characters’ myriad problems. finely nuanced performances from this accomplished ensemble. Alemshah and Wilson are both charming and energetic.”

Les Spindle

–IN Magazine

“What is it about putting a man in heels that gives him so much wisdom – maybe they push the blood back to his brains? Whatever it is, I couldn’t wait until Claudia Vestibule (Dan Alemshah) disgorged yet another deliciously skewed take on all the happenings. His bon mot about the religious: “I love it when they stay home to pray. Less traffic.”

Tracy Gore

–The Ticket Stub

The Bungler

“Dan Alemshah, in a queenish turn as family friend Anselme, also manage to score some commedia points.”

–Variety

“Along the way we are entertained by the delightful cast, including the likeable and effervescent Dan Alemshah as the foppish Anselme…”

–Kate West Reviews
